1. What is the online honeymoon registry service?

The online honeymoon registry works just like a wedding registry in a department store. The honeymoon couple select the items they want on their registry and their guests purchase these items for them. The difference is that the gifts they get to choose for the honeymoon registry are flights, hotel and fun honeymoon activities – not china, silver and bed linen!

2 . If we choose not to set up a honeymoon registry, can we still book our honeymoon with The Travel Broker?

Of course!

3. Does The Travel Broker represent only certain tour operators and their products?

No. The Travel Broker will work with airlines and hotels worldwide to tailor make a honeymoon just for you. The Travel Broker will book your honeymoon with any operator, provided it is one that is licensed and fully bonded. This means that your money is protected in the event of the operator going out of business.

4. Do we need to meet with The Travel Broker personally to make arrangements for our honeymoon?

No. Our trained travel consultants will work with you to make arrangements for your honeymoon. We can do this by phone or by email, whichever is more convenient for you. Or if you prefer, you can make an appointment to visit our offices in Clontarf, Dublin.

5. What is the cost of the honeymoon registry service?

Zero. Once you book your honeymoon with The Travel Broker, you incur no signup or registration charges. You qualify for a free wedding web page which you can use to manage your RSVP’s and to provide your guests with details about the day.

Guests incur no charges either. They can pay by credit or debit card and the Travel Broker assumes those costs.

7. What's the wedding web page all about?

When you register with The Travel Broker for an online honeymoon registry, you also get a free wedding web page. This page is for you to inform your guests about date, time, and location of the wedding ceremony and to post some photographs of you and your love both before the wedding and after the honeymoon. Your guests can RSVP to your invitation from this page. You can even add a few words on how you met and what you mean to each other. And of course, the wedding web page has a link to your honeymoon registry where guests can donate gifts towards your honeymoon.

8. How do I let people know about the honeymoon registry?

There is a link to the registry on your wedding web page. When you send out your wedding invitations you should provide the address of your wedding web page and the answer to your secret question. You can also email your friends and family directly.

9. Why do I need a secret question for my honeymoon registry?

To protect your personal information – to ensure that only your friends and family know when and where you are going on your honeymoon.

10. Why is it important to notify your guests about the registry in plenty of time?

The honeymoon registry is a means of providing your guests with tangible gifts to purchase for you. However, it is still a travel booking and is governed by the conditions of the tour operator with whom the booking is made. This normally means that a deposit must be paid at time of booking and the balance paid 8 weeks before departure date. We recommend that you notify your guests about the registry in plenty of time. You can do this by emailing them the link and by including the website address in your wedding invitations.

11. Where does the gift money go?

The money that is donated by your guests for different elements of your honeymoon is immediately credited to the honeymoon couple's account with The Travel Broker and is only used to pay for their honeymoon.

12. How am I notified when a purchase is made?

When a guest purchases a gift from the registry, they will receive an email when the credit card transaction is completed.

When the transaction has been approved by the credit card company, the honeymoon couple will receive an email at the address provided when registering for the service. This email will contain information about who purchased what gift for you.

13. What if our registry falls short of the amount required for the balance due date?

The registered couple will be responsible for payment of any balance due. However, any gifts received after that date will be refunded back to you by cheque or bank transfer direct into your bank account. When your registry closes you will receive a full statement of gifts received and any monies transferred to you.

14. How do we receive our travel documents?

Once final payments have been made and your tickets become available, The Travel Broker will contact you. You can either collect your tickets from The Travel Broker's Clontarf office or have them sent by Swiftpost to you.

15. Is it safe to pay by credit card?

All credit card information sent from the honeymoon registry site to the credit card processing company is sent via the internet. When in transit, all information is encrypted (128bit SSL) to ensure confidentiality of sensitive data. This is the encryption technique used by the majority of e-commerce websites and online banking sites around the world.

All messages regarding credit card information sent and received are authenticated using digitally signed digests. All requests are verified against a legal list of IP address and referring URLs.

The credit card payment company infrastructure is located in secure co-location facilities that have 24x7 manned security and advanced building management systems along with environmental controls. Critical servers and applications are monitored constantly to threshold levels and staff are instantly alerted via a real time monitoring and alerting service.

All connections to the financial institutions are over private dedicated leased circuits, backed up with ISDN lines and in certain cases VPN connections over the internet. The network is designed to be highly resilient with duplicate and triplicate systems in place depending on the critical nature of each component.

In addition, we do not store credit card numbers in our database. So, even if someone could hack through our very tight security, your credit card number is not at risk. Even our own employees cannot see your credit card number.

17. What if our wedding is postponed or cancelled?

  1. Speak to your travel consultant to check on cancellation or change policies for flights, hotels and tours booked for your honeymoon.
  2. If your wedding is postponed, The Travel Broker will update the wedding web page and will send emails to your friends and family notifying them of the new date, if you wish.
  3. If your wedding is cancelled, The Travel Broker will refund the difference between the amount received and the cancellation fee directly to you. It is up to you to decide how you wish to distribute the gifts your guests have already paid for.
